T-Mobile Galaxy S9 and S9+ get Night camera mode in latest update

As the global Exynos Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ models begin to receive the October security update, T-Mobile is only just bringing the September security update to the two phones. And, at long last, the carrier is also bringing over the dedicated Night mode for the camera to the S9/S9+. There’s no mention of the camera Night mode in the changelog, but it has been confirmed as being part of the update by users on Reddit. With the dedicated Night mode, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ can take brighter, more detailed low-light pictures with better exposure, with the quality of the resultant shots pretty similar to what you get on the Galaxy S10. That’s because all of Samsung’s 2018 and 2019 flagships use the same primary rear camera sensor and hardware. The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 9 just don’t get the ability to shoot Night mode pictures with the telephoto camera. The update rolling out for T-Mobile’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ comes with software version G960USQU6CSI2 and G965USQU6CSI2 respectively. It’s nearly 800 MB in size, so you might want to download it over a Wi-Fi connection. You can grab the update over the air from the Settings » Software update menu on your phone.
