Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi unveiled the K20 series back in May, and today the company announced that it will follow it up with the K30 series on December 10.
This information comes to us through Redmi VP and General Manager Lu Weibing, who took to Weibo to make the announcement.
The K30 series will support dual-mode 5G, which is a first for Redmi smartphones.
Weibing’s post also includes a poster that reveals the K30 will sport a display surrounded by slim bezels on three sides and an oval-shaped hole in the upper-right corner for the dual selfie camera, which is another first for the Chinese phone maker.
Upon closer inspection, you can also see that the phone has a very wide earpiece, which hints that it may double up as a speaker for stereo sound.
Details are scarce about the Redmi K30, but rumors have it that it will arrive with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7xx series chipset. Live images of the smartphone that leaked recently suggest the phone will boast a 120Hz display, and its 3C certification confirmed the K30 will arrive with 30W fast charging support.
More details about the Redmi K30 series should surface in the coming days.
