Realme 5s in for review

In today’s saturated smartphone market, it takes a lot of effort to stay relevant and remain in the limelight. That would explain why Realme chose to release a refresh to one of its key models just three months after its release and this week we got the new 5s.

Visually, the device is identical to the widely popular Realme 5 but it now comes in a sweet new Crystal Red paint job – making it the first Realme to do so. The other change is the main camera sensor which has been upgraded to the 48MP Samsung GM1 module, up from the 12MP one on the Realme 5.

It’s not much but the Realme 5 has been a winning formula and a boosted camera might be just what it takes to keep it relevant for another few months.

The Realme 5s still packs a 6.5-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 665 chipset and generous 5,000 mAh battery. The secondary 8MP ultrawide module, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth helper are also here. This is still an awesome deal considering the asking price here is in the $140-$150 range.

The 5s covers all the basics for a midranger but at an entry-level price point which has been the theme with many of Realme’s more affordable devices. We already got our chance to test out the Realme 5s and you can see our first impressions here. Our review team is hard at work on the detailed test, so stick around.
