NASA’s biggest telescope ever prepares for a 2021 launch

Step aside, Hubble! The James Webb Space Telescope—NASA’s newest and biggest—will be headed for space in 2021. The mission of the $10 billion project will be to seek out water on Earth-like planets, detect stars being born, and scan for other remote objects. Some 10,000 astrophysicists, engineers, and chemists have worked on the telescope that will hover 1 million miles from Earth, potentially revealing the deepest mysteries of the universe’s origins.

Facebook’s 2020 plan is too little, too late, critics say

Facebook announced this week that it will more closely monitor foreign outlets and warn users when posts are considered false—unless, of course, they’re from politicians. While CEO Mark Zuckerberg believes these changes will make the 2020 election significantly different from 2016, experts were left frustrated by the company’s reluctance to apply its own rules to politicians.
