Motorola introduced the Moto G8 Play and Moto G8 Plus last year, but we’re yet to see a vanilla version and Power variant, which were present in the G7 lineup. Now an insider has confirmed to XDA-Developers that the phones are incoming and revealed their key specs.
Moto G7 Both phones are going to be powered by the Snapdragon 665. The Moto G8 will be the lesser of the two – it will be built around a 6.39” display of HD+ resolution with a punch hole for one selfie camera. It is likely to be of the LCD variety, meaning the fingerprint is staying on the back.
There are going to be three cameras on the back of the Moto G8 – a 16MP primary sensor with f/1.7 lens, a 2MP f/2.2 shooter for macro shots and an 8 MP ultrawide cam. There is also a basic 8MP f/2.0 snapper on the front.
The Moto G8 Power should have a bigger battery – while the vanilla G8 was said to have a 4,000 mAh power cell with basic 10W charging, here we have a 5,000 mAh unit with 18W Quick Charge 3.0 in a taller and wider body.
The screen is expected to have a single punch-hole for a 25MP camera, while the LCD will get Full HD+ resolution on the same 6.36” diagonal. It will also have four cameras to on the back – the Moto G8 trio plus an extra 8MP f/2.4 snapper, which might be a telephoto lens.
