A new report from CNN Business claims that game streamer Tyler Blevins, better known as Ninja, will receive between $20 and $30 million from a multi-year deal with Mixer. Blevins signed an exclusive streaming deal with Mixer last August. While many suspected his departure from Amazon’s Twitch came with a hefty contract, no financial details emerged from the deal until this point.
Justin Warden, the CEO of Ader, states that Blevins will receive between $20 and $30 million as part of a multi-year deal. He did not state how many years the deal lasts, however. Ader is a marketing and talent management agency that works with Ninja. Ader told CNN Business that he had direct knowledge of the deal, so it’s more reputable information than some rumors that appeared on Reddit following Blevins’ move to Mixer. When CNN Business reached out to Microsoft to receive confirmation of the deal, Microsoft directed CNN Business to Ninja’s agency, Loaded. Loaded declined to share any figures with CNN Business.
CNN Business’s statements about Ninja are part of a much larger piece on game streamers, so there aren’t a lot of other details at the moment.
While Ninja’s agent and Microsoft did not confirm the figures, it seems safe to say that Blevins will receive a large sum of money for his time with Mixer. Regardless of the exact dollar figure, signing Blevins indicates a serious interest from Microsoft in game streaming.
