Linksys announced a range of 5G and Wi-Fi 6 networking devices at CES 2020. The devices allow people to stay connected using modern connectivity solutions indoors, outdoors, and on the go. The devices start rolling out in Spring 2020 and continue to release throughout the year.
On the 5G side of things, Linksys announced the Linksys 5G Mobile Hotspot, Linksys 5G Modem, and Linksys Velop 5G Mesh Gateway. The 5G Mobile Hotspot supports 5G and Wi-Fi 6 and has a USB port for quick charging. The 5G Modem uses Intelligent Mesh Technology with Linksys Velop systems to spread a network throughout a home.
The Velop 5G Mesh Gateway combines 5G networks, Linksys Intelligent Mesh Technology, and AX/Wi-Fi 6 in a two-in-one modem and router. It works with other Linksys Velop systems to expand mesh coverage in homes. Lastly, in terms of 5G, the Linksys 5G Outdoor Router works with Millimeter Wave 5G and 10Gbps wired connections to deliver networking options outdoors.
On the Wi-Fi side of things, Linksys announced the Dual-Band Mesh WiFi 6 router (MR9600) and the Velop WiFi 6 system (AX4200). The Dual-Band Mesh WiFi 6 router supports Wi-Fi 6 and has built-in Linksys Intelligent Mesh Technology that works with Velop nodes or Velop mesh routers. It has 8-stream Wi-Fi 6 technology with speeds up to 6,000Mbps, including support for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. It will be available in Spring 2020 for $400.
The Velop WiFi 6 system has built-in Linksys Intelligent Mesh Technology and Bluetooth capabilities. It can cover up to 3,000 square feet per node. It has 8-stream Wi-Fi 6 technology with speeds up to 4,200Mbps. IT will be available in Summer 2020 for $300 for the 1-pack version and $500 for the 2-pack version.
