Frankly, we hadn’t expect any substantial savings on the new Series 5. The real headline-grabbing Black Friday Apple Watch deal was to date reserved for the Series 3. But a $44 saving on the newest Apple Watch is nothing to be sniffed at.
The biggest addition, and the one that will tell the world you’re sporting the newest model, is the always-on display. Now you don’t have to wake the screen to actually see the time. That actually makes a big difference.
Other improvements over older Apple Watch models include a built-in compass for the first time, so that means improved navigation from your wrist. Always useful.
Otherwise, all the features we’ve grown to love are included, such as ECG readings, fall detection, built-in GPS, heart rate monitoring and plenty of watchOS apps. Needless to say we’re big fans, awarding the Apple Watch Series 5 a 4.5/5 review. If you’re an iPhone owner, it’s the smartwatch you should buy.

We don’t know how long this doubled-up discount will last, so if you’re after a new Apple Watch, grab this before it’s gone.
