Acer’s Spin 3 and Spin 5 laptops get thinner and more powerful at CES 2020

Acer announced updates to its Spin 3 and Spin 5 convertible laptops at CES 2020. The laptops feature thinner designs than previous models and now run the latest 10th Gen Intel Core processors. Both laptops also include a fast-charging Acer Active Stylus. The Spin 3 will be available in April starting at $699, and the Spin 5 will be available in June starting at $899.

The Spin 3 and Spin 5 include modern connectivity options and ports, including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, and USB-C with support for Thunderbolt 3. The laptops can flip around into display, tent, and tablet modes and work with the Acer Active Stylus that can quick charge inside a storage dock. Acer states that a 15-minute charge yields 90 minutes of active writing.

Both Spin laptops support fast charging, providing up to four hours of battery life off of a 30-minute charge, according to Acer. Acer states that the Spin 3 and Spin 5 get 12 hours and 15 hours of battery life, respectively.

The Spin 5 has a larger battery than the Spin 3 and has a wider selection of ports. It also includes a fingerprint reader that supports Windows Hello.
